‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 spoilers: First photo of Gabriel Luna as Ghost Rider

We’ve spoken as of late regarding “Agents of SHIELD” season 4 and some of what you can expect to see. Sure, there’s a new Director and Daisy Johnson is going to be in a completely different role than ever before, but there is one addition to the show commanding the majority of the attention and understandably so: Gabriel Luna as Ghost Rider a.k.a. Robbie Reyes. This version of the character is a little bit different than the old-school version played by Nicolas Cage in the movies, and will be relatively similar to the one in the more-recent Marvel comics.

While you may have to wait a while longer to get some further details on this role, we can go ahead and give you a quote from Jeb Whedon (per Entertainment Weekly) all about how some of these people are going to try in some shape or form to explain away some of mysterious powers that this character has with the Spirit of Vengeance:

“It started out with a guy building a suit using science, and then we met aliens that are the origin of the myths behind some of our gods, and this year Doctor Strange comes out … We’re opening it up even further to the world of things we don’t totally understand, or as Thor says, ‘Magic is science that we don’t understand.’ Well, we’re getting into some very, very fancy science.”

With that in mind, we’re sure that there will be some effort made to explain this character, but ultimately, the team may soon realize that there are more pressing matters — like trying to deal with him and figuring out where he stands.
