‘Arrow’ season 5 notes: Emily Bett Rickards on ‘Whose Line’; Stephen Amell campaigns for ‘American Ninja Warrior’
If you’re a star of “Arrow,” apparently the Greg Berlanti universe is far from your limit in terms of TV appearances!
According to TVLine, Emily Bett Rickards (who plays Felicity Smoak on the CW series) is going to be heading to “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” for an upcoming episode set for Wednesday, September 14. This marks the second “Arrow”-related appearance on the show this summer, given Katie Cassidy’s recent gig on the program. Many other CW actors, including Kat Graham and Candice King of “The Vampire Diaries,” have also stopped by.
Meanwhile, how about the idea of Stephen Amell on “American Ninja Warrior”? He’s been campaigning to do it in one way or another for many years now, and he reiterated his interest over the weekend. This time around, co-host Matt Iseman also made it clear that he’s love to see him on board the show. Given the amount of training that Amell goes through to play Oliver Queen, we do think he’d have a good shot at this. He’s also delved into some sports-related entertainment already, given his participation last month in a WWE wrestling event.
Of course, we’d love to see this happen given that there is already a Berlanti-verse connection to “Ninja Warrior”; Jessie Graff, one of the most dominant women in the history of the program, has worked in the stunt department on “Supergirl” and frequently performs on the show wearing superhero outfits. (Bonus points to Stephen if he dresses up in the Green Arrow costume while trying to complete the course.)
