‘Longmire’ season 5: See Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff in first photo

We’re coming off the heels of Netflix finally releasing the first trailer for “Longmire” season 5, and to go along with that, there’s some other good stuff that we can finally share: One of the first photos from the new season!

The image above is a rather great shot of Walt (Robert Taylor) alongside Vic (Katee Sackhoff), as the two are investigating what looks to be a very familiar burning van. Remember it from the end of season 4? Think of this as a very-clear sign that this is a story that the show has no intention to forget about — though you probably assumed that anyway.

You can see the trailer again below if you haven’t already, and there are some hints in there that suggest that Walt and Vic could, finally, be closer to taking the plunge than ever before. The problem to date is mostly that Walt has not been altogether receptive to some of the hints that Vic has been putting down, and they’ve also been in different situations with other people for much of the season.

To go along with this photo, Netflix also released the official key art for the new season below, which includes the tagline of “loyalty is a dying breed.” Hopefully, that is a rather-subtle sign that Netflix is going to continue to be loyal to this show in giving it a sixth season to go beyond this one. (Yes, we know that we’re looking super-far ahead given that this new season won’t even be airing until we get around to September 23.)
