‘The X Factor’ UK video: Nicole Scherzinger impersonates Shakira, Britney Spears, others

In a mere matter of hours, the season premiere of “The X Factor” is going to be here for your viewing enjoyment on ITV. Yet, you don’t have to wait to see one particularly-funny sneak peek!

There are a few different reasons to be excited about the presence of one Nicole Scherzinger on the series moving forward, but one of the biggest ones may be what she brings from a humor perspective. We know she can be an effective judge, but at the same time she understands this is a TV show. Occasionally, it’s okay to mess around with some other judges, just as it is also okay to do random impressions while at the judges’ table.

Simon seems to egg her on in the sneak peek to do an impression of him, and it’s halfway decent. (Judging from what we’ve seen from professional impersonators over the years, Simon is not an easy guy to mimic.) From here, she then goes into some pop stars including Britney Spears and Shakira, and at one point attempts to do Kermit the Frog as Adele. All three are pretty on-point.

Who knows? Maybe at some point down the line, Nicole can make a future appearance on a “Britain’s Got Talent” live show doing some singing impressions, similar to what we saw someone else do this past season on the show.

Just in case you’re wondering about Sharon Osbourne’s absence, we’re assuming that this is just one of those cases where she just couldn’t be at an audition for a day / part of it. This happens from time to time, and we blame the producers spending so much time in the hiring process for this. Schedules fill up, and they have to make do with what time they have.
