‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7, episode 9 video: Spencer gets an invitation

There is a new episode of “Pretty Little Liars” coming up on Freeform tonight, and as per usual with this show, we’re going to see the Liars balancing about a million different things at one time.

For Spencer Hastings, this seems to include trying to come to grips with everything happened with A.D. — plus also getting a surprising dinner invitation via Marco. You can see more on that in the sneak peek below via “Access Hollywood,” which features Troian Bellisario’s character having at first a by-the-book conversation with the cop that turns romantic when he reveals that an investigation is out of his hands … and with that, there’s not so much of a conflict of interest.

We certainly know that Spencer has a thing for guys in law enforcement, given that Toby works with the Rosewood PD (even if he didn’t at the time that the two parties first got together). However, she makes it clear to Marco here that it is mostly a matter of timing — she just got out of a relationship with Caleb, and she’s not quite ready to dive into dating someone else right now. Maybe that could change as we get a little bit further into the season, but we personally see her getting back with Toby somehow before anything else. This is a show that has put these characters through such hell that you want to hope that there’s some hope for happiness on the other side of the horizon for them.
