‘Ray Donovan’ season 4 spoilers: Is someone set to die?

The fourth season of “Ray Donovan” has definitely operated on a knife’s edge as of late, but on the next new episode airing Sunday, we could end up seeing facing a metaphorical knife: A character will be killed off.

Per a report from TV Guide (who confirmed that someone is set to die) this character is someone who has spent much of the season being a “perpetual thorn in everyone’s side,” and also someone who is not exactly beloved by most of the audience. Yet, at the same time it won’t be entirely good news when the character goes, given that when their body surfaces, it will create a whole new list of problems for the remaining characters. The location of said body will be one of the problems.

As for whether or not we’re surprised to see a significant character killed off, the answer is no, and for a number of reasons.

1. This is the sort of world where people are going to die. When you consider what so many of them are up to, it’s almost impossible to imagine that they are going to be able to emerge through this sort of battleground unscathed.

2. This also just so happens to be enough characters at this point that with someone gone, others can step up and fill some of the void … even if they are not de-facto replacements.
