‘Code Black’ season 2 spoilers: First look at Rob Lowe as Dr. Ethan Willis
The second season of “Code Black” on CBS is going to feel rather different than the first, and one of the big reasons why is coming courtesy of Rob Lowe. Fresh off of “Parks and Recreation” and “The Grinder,” he has joined the medical drama in a co-lead role, and even upon looking at him you can see just how different military doctor Ethan Willis is from the characters he played recently. It’s an interesting transformation for Lowe, and we’re certainly excited to see how it translates to screen.
If you look below, you can see (via TVLine) the first photo of Lowe as the character. He certainly looks as though he just came from a battle, and but he will be fighting the good fight to keep people alive at the hospital. This is a place where his training could be very useful, especially in terms of handling stressful situations and a sudden influx of people.
In explaining what he likes about the casting in particular, creator Michael Seitzman said the following to the site:
“Two of Rob’s many remarkable qualities are the same traits we needed in Willis … He makes you want to know him and at the same time makes you feel you’ve known him your whole life.”
The new season will premiere this fall, and we’re certainly looking forward to seeing how things shape up the remainder of the way. In the end, we anticipate some drama, but nothing that a guy with a history in Afghanistan would struggle to handle.
