‘Saturday Night Live’: Jay Pharoah posts photo following departure news
While for the most part Jay Pharoah has remained quiet following his exit from “Saturday Night Live,” he has at least broken his silence in one way: On Instagram.
In the post below, you can see the departing cast member alongside Taran Killam (who is also leaving after six seasons with the show) and Vanessa Bayer, claiming that the two are his “fam for life.” That should be a pretty clear indicator that Jay is not exactly leaving on the worst of terms with his fellow cast members, not that we ever expected that he would be given he always felt like one of the more jovial members of the group.
What the show is missing with Jay departing starts off first and foremost with quite possibly their most gifted impressionists, and maybe one of the best that has ever been on the series. His recent sketches on “Weekend Update” where he just rattled them off is a prime example of that. Obviously, his most notable impression is that of President Obama, and as we say goodbye to his time in the Oval Office, we wonder what in the world the show will do. Do they try to convince him to come back for one or two shows? We’d like to see that happen, mostly because one of the things we especially hate about this exit is that it deprives us of a chance to get a proper farewell.
We didn’t get a chance to mention this previously, but we wonder further if Taran’s exit guarantees that Darrell Hammond will be Donald Trump the rest of the way.
