‘Life in Pieces’ season 2 gets Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman to sign up
The second season of “Life in Pieces” on CBS just got all the more interesting — and also funny in the process. We really can’t stress the latter part enough when you are talking about the one-two punch of getting Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally each to appear on your show.
Sources confirm that the two actors / real-life spouses are going to play a part in the upcoming season 2 premiere as the mom and “Uncle Dad” (term via TVLine) to the Clementine character, and the major twist here is in part why this is immediately so interesting: The two parties are probably more than just siblings. After all, they share a twin bed. Does this sound like something out of House Lannister to you?
For Offerman and Mullally, they likely relished the opportunity to go weird and do something different after so many other comedic roles. Nick is obviously still best known for playing Ron Swanson on “Parks and Recreation,” be he did get a chance to show a different side after appearing on the second season of “Fargo.” Mullally of course is best known for “Will & Grace,” but has done a variety of other shows including “Childrens Hospital” and also guest-starred previously on “Parks and Rec” as Tammy Two, one of Ron’s exes and an especially entertaining one.
Given that “Life in Pieces” made it through the first season with at least solid ratings, part of the intrigue now should be how it handles being in different timeslots with some different lead-ins attached. It could be a challenge, but one that it is more than capable of taking on.
