‘Suits’ renewed for season 7 by USA

Suits -There is a new episode of “Suits” airing on USA Wednesday night, but before rolling around to that, why not share some other great news?

While at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour on Wednesday, it was confirmed that the series, which stars Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht, has been renewed for a seventh season. This is a renewal that creator Aaron Korsh was optimistic about when we spoke with him before the season, and it is something that we are personally very happy for just based on our own personal love and appreciation for the show.

Of course, we do wonder just how long this show will go on for, much in the way that we always do with any series that lasts for longer than a few seasons. USA series do typically take their bow in season 8; just look at “Monk,” “Psych,” or “Royal Pains” for evidence. We do think that there is enough momentum here that “Suits” could last longer than that, provided that the network and the cast wanted to continue. We just figure that we’re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves when we start thinking in that way.

For now, we presume that the top priority is really going to be when Mike is going to make it out of prison, and what the world of the show is going to look like then. What will he do for a living, and how will he interact then with Harvey and the other members of the firm?
