‘Supergirl’ season 2 filming underway with Tyler Hoechlin as Superman
It was only one week ago that Tyler Hoechlin was telling the audience at San Diego Comic-Con that he had yet to step into the costume of Superman for “Supergirl” season 2, and now, we’re here to tell you that is no longer the case! Obviously, the former “Teen Wolf” actor did take part in the photo shoot above, but to go along with that, we are hearing now that he is on the ground in Vancouver shooting some actual footage.
We obviously don’t want to give anything major away, but you can take this clearly as all of the proof you need and then some that season 2 is being filmed as we speak in preparation for the move to The CW this fall. Based on the footage we’ve seen (we have a policy against sharing set photos on the site) Tyler seems well-suited for the roe, and as we’ve stated, we like that the character has not been super hulked-out for the show like we’ve seen with some iterations of the character.
Costume-wise, we will say that the Coat of Arms for the House of El is a little close to the cape, but that is in part due to the decision of how big they choose to make both the Coat of Arms and then also the attachments for the cape itself. We also like how this Superman seems to have almost a utility belt of his own, so he is a little bit like Batman in that regard.
Hoechlin should be around for the first two episodes of this season, but it is certainly possible we see even more of him down the line.
