‘America’s Got Talent’ results preview: Why Jon Dorenbos, Tape Face, Jayna Brown should advance

AGT -Tonight, “America’s Got Talent” is going to be bringing back the results show for the first time this season, and we’re feeling ultimately like it’ll be judge about the same as last week. Seven of the twelve acts will advance to the next round; one will be the beneficiary of the Dunkin’ Save / whatever they are calling it now, while the judges will get to choose one more who they think is worthy. Given that there were many good acts from last night’s show, there are many different ways we could see this going.

Here is our prediction for the week.

Laura Bretan – She was a Golden Buzzer act from the first round, she is a wonderful opera singer, and she has a humble personality. She’s a lock.

Tape Face – He feels almost like a dark-horse candidate to win the whole show based on how popular he is online. Uniqueness goes a long way.

Jon Dorenbos – A very good magic act, and an NFL connection to go along with it.

Jayna Brown – Another Golden Buzzer act, and while going first can at times be a kiss of death, she’s memorable enough as a singer to make it through.

Deadly Games – The best knife-throwing act every on the show. If they don’t go through, it’s a sign that America simply doesn’t respect this craft.

Lori Mae Hernandez – As Howie Mandel put it last night, she’s not getting any Republican votes … but we also don’t quite think she’ll need it since more liberal viewers probably love this.

Musicality – To us, Daniel Joyner, Outlawz, and Dorothy Williams are all out. From there, it comes down to Musicality versus Hara and Silva Sveta. Our vote would most-likely be for Hara, even if we didn’t really love the magic part of the act last night. Yet, we think that the singers, plus their powerful story, will carry the day. Sila Sveta will be doomed because we’ve seen similar acts before.
