‘The 100’ season 4 spoilers: Zach McGowan promoted; Luna to return
The third season of “The 100” ended with the world in great crisis, and it’s not entirely clear how Clarke and company are going to be able to extract themselves from this bind. Luckily, we have a feeling that we’re going to see the characters be proactive … while still handling a lot of other threats, as well. This show does have a tendency to weave a lot of story in a relatively small space.
In many ways Earth has been a character on this show, and that is something, per Rothenberg, that you can expect to see continue moving into the future:
“The earth strikes back in Season 4 [after what has happened]. It’s an unbeatable foe. It becomes not how to stop it; it becomes, ‘How do we survive’? There aren’t enough life boats … It’s a return in a lot of ways, thematically, to what we did in Season 1.”
On a few other notes, Zack McGowan has been promoted to series regular, so be prepared to see a whole lot more of him. Meanwhile, also be prepared to see more Luna. Rothenberg calls the character “a breath of fresh air.”
As for Clarke, be prepared to see her “own her power” in a way that she has not done on the series before now. Rothenberg also promised that the Flame will continue to be an important part of the story, even though Lexa is gone and there are no plans for her to return after Alycia Debnam-Carey made an appearance in the finale.
The new season of “The 100” is not slated to premiere until 2017.
