‘Empire’ season 3 spoilers: Taye Diggs of ‘Murder in the First’ signs up
“Empire” hasn’t necessarily courted big-name guest stars this season as much as they have in the past, but that doesn’t quite mean that they are avoiding them in the event someone big comes up. This is where we are right now when it comes to Taye Diggs.
Diggs, who is currently a part of “Murder in the First” and is also known for “Private Practice,” is set to appear as a city council member named Angelo Dubois, someone steeped in ambition and is very interested in trying to make the world a better place. He’s very intelligent, probably in the way that he could have done many other things that made him far more successful over the course of his life.
We anticipate that Taye’s appearance will mean that city government will have at least some role to play over the course of the third season, and we could imagine the Lyon family having a very interesting relationship with them. From one vantage point, the crime that they’ve been associated with over the years makes it somewhat difficult to call them model citizens; however, their fame and their presence at the same time probably brings more attention to the city, and helps them to hype up further an affluent lifestyle.
Anytime we’re going to get to see Diggs guest-starring on a show, we’re going to be rather happy. Here’s to hoping he gets a lot of good material to work with.
