‘Murder in the First’ season 3, episode 2 preview: A chase scene turns tragic
The third season of “Murder in the First” started in fairly dramatic fashion last week courtesy of the beginnings of the Normandy Parker case, something that may cause mounting pressure on Terry in terms of his time on the force, and even his time dealing with the media. It’s a high-profile case, and that makes it significantly harder to control. Unfortunately, it may also lead to you acting a little bit more impulsively.
The promo below gives you a fairly good sense of what is to come here for Terry as he is told to protect his case and try to make progress. In the process of this, he’s going to get a tip that he feels the need to act on. It’s therefore unfortunate that it turns out that this tip may have been inaccurate, and his actions turn the case on its head and make the police into more of a common enemy. You may have seen some of this in other trailers, but it is touching on some relevant present-day topics including police brutality.
Also, be prepared to see in “Tropic of Cancer” Hildy and Terry make a key decision that could certainly change their own future. There will be a lot going on in this episode, and we’re fine with that provided that the show continues to give us solid, compelling police drama. There aren’t too many season-long mystery shows out there, and this one has an opportunity on cable to be more daring and bold than the majority of them.
