‘Big Brother 18’ spoilers: More on Battle Back twist; winner to be revealed on special episode
Just in case having three nights of “Big Brother” in a week was not enough for you, know this: There’s going to be one particular week coming in July that will feature a fourth installment on Friday! What’s the reasoning? It has to do with the new Battle Back competition that is basically the show’s version of Redemption Island from “Survivor.”
CBS confirmed this news tonight in a statement, with the following explaining the rules pretty clearly:
“There will be four battles in all, with the last Houseguest standing returning to the game for another shot at the $500,000 prize. Round one will feature a showdown between the first evicted Houseguest, Glenn Garcia, and tonight’s evictee, Jozea. The winner of Round One will advance and challenge next week’s third evicted Houseguest, and so on. All four “Battle Back” competitions and the reveal of the winner, will air exclusively during a special episode of BIG BROTHER, Friday, July 22 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”
Given the way in which this press release describes things, it probably is going to really stink for someone like Glenn, who is probably not going to win four battles to re-enter the game, and is also probably not going to be let out of sequester for several weeks. We’d imagine that they would film all of these close to each other for convenience purposes; the only other option is worse, where someone loses a battle and still has to stick around to keep the secret from getting out.
It’s a bummer that it doesn’t seem like we’re getting live feeds for the Head of Household competition tonight; still, we’re going to have the winner announced at this link the moment that it is revealed.
