Comic-Con 2016: ‘The Flash’ season 3, ‘The 100’ season 4, ‘Supergirl’ season 2 panels confirmed
If there is one studio more so than any other that really embraces San Diego Comic-Con, we have to think that it is Warner Bros. Television. So many of their shows are either comic-book adaptations, or they simply just embrace genre fare in a way that other studios do not.
Today, we got the first sense as to what their lineup of panels is going to be, and rest assured that it’s a beastly list.
Friday, July 22
“The Big Bang Theory” (10:00 a.m., Ballroom 20) – Let’s start this off with a Comic-Con staple, even though it is more of the writing staff who shows up these days along with a guest cast member or two.
“The 100” (12:30 p.m., Ballroom 20) – This panel should be interesting, given that other than WonderCon, there have not been many times in which creator Jason Rothenberg has faced the fans since the death of Lexa.
“People of Earth” (2:00 p.m., Room 6BCF) – A new comedy starring Wyatt Cenac, and it counts Conan O’Brien as executive producer.
“Powerless” (2:30 p.m., Room 6BCF) – Attendees will get a chance to learn about this DC Comics-based comedy early, given that it may not premiere until the new year.
“iZombie” (5:30 p.m., Ballroom 20) – “iZombie” also is not returning until the new year.
Saturday, July 23
“The Vampire Diaries” (11:00 a.m., Ballroom 20) – Will we learn that this is the final season?
“Blindspot” (12:00 p.m., Indigo Ballroom) – Sullivan Stapleton, Jaimie Alexander, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and creator Martin Gero are all slated to attend.
“The Originals” (12:50 p.m., Indigo Ballroom) – It’s a little odd that this panel and “The Vampire Diaries” are not taking place in the same venue.
“Lucifer” (1:30 p.m., Indigo Ballroom) – This isn’t giving “The Originals” a very long panel, is it?
“Gotham” (2:10 p.m., Indigo Ballroom) – Then again, we can say the same thing here.
“Supergirl” (3:30 p.m., Ballroom 20) – Given the move to The CW, there’s a lot to discuss here!
“Legends of Tomorrow” (4:15 p.m., Ballroom 20) – The cast of attendees has not been confirmed, but hopefully new Vixen Maisie Richardson-Sellers will be among them.
“The Flash” (5:00 p.m., Ballroom 20) – At least the show is getting 45 minutes last year after that horribly-short panel last time.
“Arrow” (5:45 p.m., Ballroom 20) – Stephen Amell is always great a these.
“Riverdale” (6:30 p.m., Room 6BCF) – The Archie Comics adaptation will get its first chance to shine.
“Frequency” (7:25 p.m., Room 6BCF) – From one new CW series to the next.
“Time After Time” (8:20 p.m., Room 6BCF) – Finally, we conclude with the H.G. Wells time-travel drama.
Sunday, July 24
“Supernatural” (11:15 a.m., Hall H) – The only Warner Bros. TV show to get the biggest venue at Comic-Con, this one should be fun. For some reason, “Supernatural” always tends to happen on Sundays.
