‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’ spotlight: Will Grant Kemp prove to be interesting addition?

The moment that Grant Kemp first surfaced on JoJo Fletcher’s season of “The Bachelorette,” it became at least fairly clear to us that this is someone that ABC would be looking at as a contender for “Bachelor in Paradise.” After all, he’s a fireman, he’s got a unique look, and … he’s a fireman! Seriously, the producers really didn’t give this guy much of a story, even if he lasted for a little while. We do like that he has the perfect chin to be a comic-book superhero, but it’s really hard to gauge how he will do in Paradise after being a non-factor for most of this season.

Still, our job here at the site is to try to figure this out!

Show experience – He was recently eliminated from JoJo’s season just like Evan, Vinny, and others, and while he had a couple of moments here and there with her, he never had a one-on-one date, or showed any real sign that he was going to be a huge contender. More than anything, he’s become more notable for social-media drama after an ex of his tried to attack him online at the time of the premiere over the timing of their relationship in relation to the show filming.

Romance potential – Moderate. He’s a fireman. How many times do we have to say that? Just because he’s got a different vibe to many of the other guys this season, and he’s got a job that in theory attracts the ladies, we feel like there’s at least a shot he will get a little bit of attention.

Drama potential – Low. He didn’t bring any drama really when he was competing for one women with a ton of other guys. Why should we expect him to bring any here? Maybe he will prove to be entertaining here, or maybe he needed further motivation to mix things up with the other guys. We shall see later this summer!
