‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4: Comic-Con promo brings Hellfire, Ghost Rider to mind
It’s rather funny that we were just thinking about Ghost Rider and his potential place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just the other day, and now there’s a chance to get the rumor mill going again on the subject. Then again, it’s also funny that we were just in San Diego not too long ago and we didn’t get a chance to see the tram featured in the photo below from the “Agents of SHIELD” Twitter account.
Clearly, this show is already doing what it can to promote itself in preparation for Comic-Con in the city; for those wondering, one of the transit depots in the city is named Santa Fe near the Gaslamp District, which is where the convention center is located. Now that we’ve got our discussion of San Diego geography out of the way, let’s talk a little bit about the possibilities here as to what this train means.
Hellfire – This is clearly the most likely possibility, given that the character has already been set up, and may just have a larger role moving forward. We’d be okay with that, even if he is not the most flashy character that the show could promote a season around.
Ghost Rider – With big risks come … great rewards? IGN first floated this possibility earlier, and as cool as it’d be to see the character get a treatment that was not related to Nicolas Cage, we just don’t see where we get to this point. Still, we don’t know precisely what Marvel’s plans are for the character otherwise, so never say never?
