‘Game of Thrones’ suffers HBO NOW crisis during ‘Battle of the Bastards’
Tonight, “Game of Thrones” is in the process of airing on of the biggest episodes over the course of the series in “Battle of the Bastards,” so it only makes sense that during this, we’d see an outage of HBO’s online streaming platform. (Of course, we’re speaking here ironically.)
Tonight, the HBO NOW service went down prior to the start of the ninth episode of the season, arguably the biggest episode to date. (Typically, the show’s ninth episodes are the most important when it comes to big events.) Fans were immediately outraged about the outage all over social media, and understandably so given that the service is something you spend $15 a month on in order to watch HBO programming, preferably as close to live as possible.
Unfortunately, that’s not happening, and the most frustrating part of this may be that this is the second instance of lengthy downtime for the service during the season; there were also technical problems that took place during the show’s premiere.
Rest assured that when there is more information out there regarding the episode being available on the platform, we’ll let you know here.
Update: As of around 10:02 p.m. Eastern time, the app is now up and running! This means that, hopefully, everyone who missed the episode will have a chance to now take a look at it. We’re not going to spoil anything in here (we’re not that cruel), but trust us when we say that this is certainly an hour that was worthy of your time and then some.
