‘Ballers’ season 2 spoilers: First look at upcoming episodes!
The second season of “Ballers” is going to be premiering on HBO starting on Sunday, July 17, so why wait to start to get some more details on upcoming episodes? HBO just released some of the first details in a press release, and they suggest that Spencer will be working hard to ensure that he continues to get what he wants.
Episode 2×01, “Face of the Franchise” (July 17) – “Convinced to appear on a talk show, Spencer (Dwayne Johnson) ends up facing off with an old adversary, which puts his company and reputation in jeopardy. A reformed Ricky (John David Washington) gets bad news in advance of his 30th birthday party. Charles (Omar Benson Miller) relishes his new status as a fan favorite, but may face changes on the field.”
Episode 2×02, “Enter the Temple” (July 24) – “Spencer makes a play to poach a big client from Andre (Andy Garcia), his business rival, while struggling to find a quick fix for his physical ailments. Ricky considers where to head to next. Reggie (London Brown) fights for what he believes Vernon (Donovan Carter) owes him. Feeling underpaid and undervalued, Tracy (Arielle Kebble) takes a stand with her boss. Charles gets insights from his coach.”
Episode 2×03, “Elidee” (July 31) – “Spencer advises a reluctant Vernon to stay quiet when the truth behind his injury threatens his career. Trying to stave off Andre’s attacks on their business, Spencer and Joe (Rob Corddry) butt heads over how best to advise a client. Charles worries whether he’s up for a challenge. A hard-to-impress Ricky takes a trip to tour a potential new home.”
Having Garcia on this show is one of the biggest selling outs of season 2, of course to go along with the fact that this was a very funny show the first season and it’s worthy of getting to tell some more stories. It spotlights the sports world in a comedic way, but we know at the same time that there are many elements of realism to it.
