‘Shark Tank’ revisited: R Riveter, Combat Flip Flops, BearTek, and Major Mom
“Shark Tank” continues its rather-lengthy hiatus on Friday night, but they are going to bring you via repeats one of the more interesting installments from this past season. The show has made it a recent tradition to feature products from military veterans and spouses, and there were several ideas in here that were impressive from the jump.
So how have these products done since the episode first aired? That is something we are going to dive into further below.
R Riveter – Just from one look at the company’s website today, you get the sense that the handbag company is continuing to do well. The thing that we remain the most impressed bout with this is the model, which enables and empowers military spouses all over the country by giving them a place to work remotely. It’s solid work that doesn’t interfere with their lives, and from a business perspective, thay are still churning out quality bags. This is a business first and foremost, and it seems to be succeeding there.
BearTek – These are still cool gloves, and while the company has spruced-up its web presence somewhat since the first airing, we do still think that there are some mass marketability concerns here given that there are so many other wireless / Bluetooth communication options out there beyond these smart gloves. Also, we’re not even remotely the target demo for these, so maybe we cannot really speak to their effectiveness as well as others could.
Major Mom – We are definitely seeing more home organizers being added to the company since the show first aired, but like with BearTek, we do think that there is ultimately a limited market here, and it still remains difficult to scale on a consistent level across a wide variety of locations. Still, if you are desperate for some tips on organizing and getting a more creative, healthy space, this may be the service for you. We’ve never doubted their effectiveness.
Combat Flip Flops – First things first, kudos to the company for promoting specials to go along with the repeat airing tonight … not that we need it. We’re impressed that they are continually coming out with new designs; more than that, we continue to be impressed just by the look and the apparent quality of the product for the price. Unlike BearTek, we are the target audience here for the most part, and now that we’ve seen all of season 7, these flip flops are among our favorites for the year.
