Where ‘The Real World’ season 32 is reportedly heading
It’s been a few days now since the end of “The Real World: Go Big or Go Home,” and in that timespan we’ve had an opportunity to at least digest and unwind from what was in many ways a real disaster of a season. In between Jenna’s offensive comments and some of the fighting that took place in the house, it certainly didn’t feel like the show that so many people originally fell in love with. Also, it really started to drift from the original premise more than ever by giving people menial tasks, which forced story upon them rather than allowing them to be in charge of creating it themselves.
This season was set in Las Vegas, and at present, it appears now that season 32 is heading to a different part of the country: Seattle. This was reported by the incomparable Reality Blurred, who notes that this is the fourth straight season where the show is visiting a location that they have already visited before. By our estimation, that’s not great, since if you cannot theme a season around a location, you’re probably going for some sort of a further twist. (Reality Blurred also includes the address of the house, per some permits that were filed.)
Now, the question that we presume you are set to wonder is this: Is a washed-up, completely-desecrated “Real World” better than no “Real World” at all? Our feeling is almost that the show should just be called a different name if it’s not going to be the same show that it once was, and you should either bring back something closer to the original or just end it. Alas, that is only our take on it, and MTV clearly likes milking the franchise for what they can.
We know that season 32 has been in casting now for some time; hopefully, the show finds a more likable overall group than the one we just had in Vegas.
