‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 6 preview: Emilia Clarke hints at ‘turning point’ for Dany
Tonight, HBO is going to be lifting the veil on the latest episode of “Game of Thrones,” and rest assured that this is going to be a key hour for many characters — with Dany at the center of it all. Can you really be surprised by this? You shouldn’t be, largely based on where she has gone so far. She now has the Dothraki army at her side after showing her power / her immunity to fire once more, and maybe going through this will refocus her beyond just being a ruler of Meereen and Essos; this is small stuff compared to what she initially had planned for Westeros.
While the tease that Emilia Clarke gave recently to the New York Times may be small, it’s still very much effective when it comes to laying out her character’s intention:
“The next episodes might be a real turning point as she is about to make a real move toward the Targaryen in her blood.”
Ultimately, let’s just say that we have a feeling there are going to be a few more stories coming up that give everyone a thing or two further to discuss with her. Last week’s “The Door” was a little bit quieter when it comes to her story, given that one of the most notable events was simply to send Ser Jorah off to look for a cure. For now, we’re going to go ahead and consider this merely a calm before the storm. (We also wonder, based on the current order of things, what role House Greyjoy could have in all this before the end.)
