Is ‘Grimm’ season 5 new tonight on NBC? Look who’s directing!
The past few months have certainly spoiled us as “Grimm” viewers; due to the light schedule in which NBC airs new episodes in the fall, it always leads to the spring being heavily-loaded when it comes to new episodes. It’s been a luxury, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end.
With last week being the two-hour finale for the season, we’re now left to wait until October most likely see the show return. There’s no real way to make that waiting any easier, but we do at least have a little teaser that should make some David Giuntoli fans rather pleased: He’s going to be stepping into the director’s chair for the first time as a director! Speaking to TVLine, he explained that production is helping him thanks to the way in which the episodes are being filmed:
“They’re moving it up to the first [to be shot], so I have time to prep it. I’ve been so compelled by what is going on behind the scenes. I know the show as well as anyone else.”
What we’re hearing here from Giuntoli is a prime example of something that is done fairly often with these sort of shows. On “Supernatural,” for example, Jensen Ackles often directs an early episode of the show, and we have a tendency to see producers go above and beyond in order to make sure that he can film it before even the premiere films. We always appreciate it when the cast goes above and beyond to tackle other roles on a show, since it further suggests how committed they are to the project.
