‘Britain’s Got Talent’ results: Did Beau Dermott, Balance Unity, or Tumar KR advance to final?
We’re getting near the end of the “Britain’s Got Talent” semifinal shows, and with that, we’re getting a sense of how the final is going to be shaping up. Going into tonight, we had a total of three singing acts, one magician, a dance act, and then a sword-swallower / acrobat. It’s starting to be a more eclectic group than it was looking after the first show.
However, we were certainly afraid that tonight was going to see the return of “Britain’s Got Singers,” given that much of the variety acts failed to really bring it on the night. Beau Dermott, who performed last and had Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer going into the show, was a lock to move on. From here, vocal group Vox Fortuna felt like a safe bet, though the Collaborative Orchestra and Singers, Balance Unity, Tumar KR, and Bollywest Fusion had a shot. We liked Christian Lee, but figured Britain wasn’t behind it.
Bespoke Candi was the last-place act on the night (no surprise), and they were followed by Bollywest Fusion, Danny Beard, Christian Lee, the Collaborative Orchestra and Singers, and then … Vox Fortura? This was a shocker. Ultimately, it just shows further the value of performing late in the show. This, coupled with uniqueness, like aided Tumar KR in particular as they faced off against Balance Unity for the judges’ vote.
Personally, we’d probably go with Tumar based mostly on what they brought to the table, and how different it is than anything else we’ve ever seen on this show. The judges went with Balance in what seemed to be a pretty easy vote for them, though, and we’re not too surprise. We wonder in part whether the language barrier hurt Tumar KR in a way, given that they could not forget a personal connection to the judges in the way that someone like Balance and many other acts could.
