Fox 2016 Fall Schedule: ‘Lethal Weapon’ joins ‘Empire’ season 3; ‘Rosewood’ joins ‘Bones’ season 12
Fox today officially unveiled their full fall schedule, and we have to say that for a network that is really introducing so many new shows over the course of the next year, there really is not too much in the way of surprises on here. Many of the same shows are airing in somewhat-similar timeslots, and a number of the newest and most-anticipated entries are being surprising held off until midseason.
Interestingly, we are going to have Fox’s midseason schedule a little bit later, and that will tell you where shows like “24: Legacy” and the new “Prison Break” end up.
Update: The schedule has been updated to reflect “Bones” being delayed.
Mondays
8:00 – Gotham
9:00 – Lucifer
Tuesdays
8:00 – Brooklyn Nine-Nine
8:30 – New Girl
9:00 – Scream Queens
Wednesdays
8:00 – Lethal Weapon (new drama)
9:00 – Empire
Thursdays
8:00 – Rosewood
9:00 – Pitch (new drama)
Fridays
8:00 – Hell’s Kitchen
9:00 – The Exorcist (new drama)
Sundays
7:30 – Bob’s Burgers
8:00 – The Simpsons
8:30 – Son of Zorn (new comedy)
9:00 – Family Guy
9:30 – The Last Man on Earth
So in looking at this schedule, you really only have three new series popping up on it, and the only big surprise to us is seeing “Rosewood” moved apart from “Empire.” Then again, there may be a feeling that with its franchise name, “Lethal Weapon” will be able to attract viewers who already watch “Empire” and want something else to enjoy throughout the fall.
Remember that this schedule is also going to get rather messy come late October / early November courtesy of the World Series. There really isn’t another network out there who has to jump through hoops quite like Fox, and baseball is one of the biggest reasons for that.
