‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 20 review: Lash takes on Hive
If you were curious to see if Lash was going to have any sort of firm endgame on “Agents of SHIELD” season 3, it feels as though we had it on Tuesday night’s all-new episode. Let’s just say that it did not end very well.
The good news here is that the creature otherwise known as Andrew did manage to do some good in his final moments facing off with Hive and his other Inhumans. It just so turns out that he can cure them of their problems! He managed to heal Daisy before his untimely death, and given how much we hated what this guy was doing early this season, especially to May, we had an emotional journey like nobody’s business over the course of just a minute or so. We went from being fearful of Lash to loving him, only to then being incredibly sad when it looked like the character was dead.
The good news at least is that Daisy is no longer a fallen agent, and she can use her knowledge in order to help SHIELD once more. Given what we know at present about Hive’s plans, they are going to need whatever help they can get. He’s planning to create a mass incident that he will be able to use in order to create mass shockwaves, and ultimately infect a wide array of people in a very short period of time. They could become the latest additions to his odd group of Inhumans he is forming.
Basically, this entire episode was a heck of a setup for the big finale, one the repositioned the SHIELD team in a way that at least gives them a fighting chance. As Mack said in the closing minutes, there is at least a reason now to stand and fight. Episode Grade: B+.
