‘Shark Tank’ preview: Yourself Expression, Dollop Gourmet, Spooner Boards, CreaProducts, and PhoneSoap

Shark Tank -On Friday night, “Shark Tank” will be returning with a wide array of different products, and in terms of possible investments, a mixed bag. It was fairly easy to tell last week which businesses could at least entertain some offers, and also which ones were going to be sent away rather quickly. That’s not the case this time around, as we think there are multiple businesses that probably at least have a shot. At the same time, all of them have some hurdles to overcome.

Before we get to speaking further on the products, let’s go ahead (as always) and share the full synopsis:

“An immigrant entrepreneur from Honolulu, Hawaii, cuts her own hair in front of the Sharks to demonstrate her products; an award-winning, self-taught baker from Rochester, New York, hopes to sweeten the deal with her healthy ready-to-eat frosting; a kid-preneur sister and brother duo from Jacksonville, Florida, pitch their lucrative interchangeable jewelry business; and three business partners from San Diego, California, are determined to convince the Sharks to hop on board with their wheelless skateboards. Also, an update on Dan Barnes and Wesley Laporte from Orem, Utah, and Phone Soap, their product offering a quick and convenient way to clean your phone that Lori Greiner invested in during season six.”

Dollop Gourmet – Any time something is deemed as “healthy,” there’s always a fear that it compromises taste somehow. That is the obvious concern present here, but after looking at the frosting flavors and the ingredients, plus the pedigree of the people involved in the baking industry, we do think that superficially, there could be a real winner here.

CreaProducts – There are some innovations here when it comes to hair, nails, and eyelashes, and it’s a pretty massive line as opposed to some of what we’ve seen from other “Shark Tank” products. We like that we’re getting some Hawaiian influence into the show, but at the same time, there have been a lot of beauty products in the Tank. Standing out is hard.

Spooner Boards – They’re like a skateboard / snowboard hypbrid in that they’re fairly small, but without wheels. You can do some fun tricks on them, but we wonder how appealing this will really be for people who aren’t around any hills and have to just settle for spinning around in largely one place.

Yourself Expression – This company is comprised of “snap bracelets” and other accessories that allow your own individual personality to shine through. We like the idea and the creativity here; it is somewhat reminiscent of a charm bracelet, but more modern. We can easy see this selling well in the 12-18 demographic.
