‘The Leftovers’ season 3 production moving to Australia

The third season of “The Leftovers” does not have a firm premiere date just yet at HBO, but whenever it does return, you better believe that the show is going to look extremely different … again.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, production for the show, executive-produced by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, is going to be moving to Australia for the upcoming season. Based on the report, the main reason for this is creative rather than anything else (much in the way that the second season did). It’s an exciting proposition, but there’s not too much else that is known other than that the third season will apparently begin once more in Austin before making the move.

Do we understand why Kevin Garvey would feel the need to move away from Miracle National Park? Without a doubt, given that this setting produced nothing but hell for him and his family. One of the larger questions now is what this move ultimately means for the cast as a whole. We presume that Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon would return, but what about everyone else?

As curious as we are about this move, the one thing that we do feel rather confident about at the moment is that this is the show worthy of our trust, recognition, and so much more. The second season was our favorite season of anything that was on the air in 2015, and it did that without us really expecting that much from it. Who knows what will happen next?
