‘The Real World: Go Big or Go Home’ episode 6 preview: Chris prepares for a big speech

We’ve taken a lot of joy at times mocking “The Real World: Go Big or Go Home,” mostly because of how far removed it is from what the show once was. There are tasks now, storylines feel quickly manufactured, and of course there is the whole issue of casting someone who makes a habit out of saying things that are incredibly offensive.

Over the course of this past episode, it was Chris who actually copped to outing Jenna publicly for some of her remarks, which caused her to get immediately enraged at him, thinking that he may have been responsible in part for ruining her life after the show. We can’t speak too much right now to how that story will pick up Thursday, but we do have a sneak peek below that is something that we will certainly never mock in a million years: Chris preparing for a powerful speech, where he will talk about all of the hardships that he faced within the Mormon community.

We’re not going to sit here and say that we know a whole lot about the church, as someone who did not grow up in it; however, we believe him when he says that speaking out may be one of the most important things he ever does in his life. It could cause there to be a big wall between his past and present, and who knows? Maybe it’ll be liberating for him to do so. Religion is a touchy subject, so it will be intriguing to see how the show handles this … and also what the reaction to it is online after the fact.
