‘Teen Wolf’ season 6: Arden Cho not returning as Kira
“Teen Wolf” season 6 may be coming a little bit later this summer on MTV, but unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to be coming without Arden Cho as Kira.
In the video below, you can see the actress confirm with the following statement that she is departing the show for what seems to be story reasons:
“I love Kira Yukimura so much. I love the Yukimura family … I loved my experience on ‘Teen Wolf.’ I love the cast and crew. It’s been an amazing almost 3-and-a-half years, it’s gone by so fast. But unfortunately it looks like we are wrapped up with Kira’s storyline and she won’t be coming back for season 6.”
Cho also apologized for what may have felt like her leading fans on in previous interviews, where she expressed some excitement for her story coming up. At the time, she had anticipated that she was going to be a part of the show moving forward.
Of course, we are certainly sad about this news given that Kira was one of the few people who seemed to make Scott McCall happy, and she also brought great diversity and mythology to the show. With her exit, the future of the series now becomes even muddier.
Departures from “Teen Wolf” in general have become almost expected over the years, with Daniel Sharman, Colton Haynes, Crystal Reed, and Tyler Hoechlin being among the other people who have departed. We understand some of this given that this is a physically demanding show, and also one that requires a lot of time. The difference between some of these exits and Arden’s is that it sounds more like her character was written out as opposed to her leaving outright.
