‘Scorpion’ season 2 spoilers: Will finale put Toby in danger?

We assumed that the season 2 finale of “Scorpion” was going to be some sort of high-octane thrill ride, and judging from some of the first details we have now about the episode, it certainly appears as though the hour will not disappoint.

Since we do love puns very much, we really should start off by sharing the title for this our in “Toby or Not Toby.” (Enter laugh track here.) Now, the not-so-great news: This finale (airing on April 25) is going to put the Toby character in grave danger, and it is all thanks to a former team member with a very specific agenda. The synopsis below does a good job offering up some further insight:

“Team Scorpion must outthink their unstable ex-Scorpion member, Mark Collins (guest star Joshua Leonard), after he kidnaps Toby and threatens to kill him unless his cunning demands are met.”

Do we think that Toby is going to die? Probably not, but if for no other reason than he is a major part of the show, and we can imagine Toby / Happy ‘shippers rioting in the streets if they were to sever this beloved couple. With this being said, we do think that for the most part, there are other ramifications that could come with a story like this. Maybe this near-death experience gives Toby a new perspective on things, and this in turn could cause him to think a little bit more in terms of what he wants from his own life in the future. Time will tell on this one.
