‘Shadowhunters’ season 2: Premiere date speculation for Freeform drama
Tonight, the season 1 finale of “Shadowhunters” came to an end on Freeform, but there is still one major question the remains: When is the series, based on the Cassandra Clare stories, going to return?
Unfortunately, all early indications are that you are not going to see new episodes on the show for a long time … and it may not be until 2017 when you see it back on the air. That’s a bummer, but hopefully it will end up being worth the wait since there is still a rather large amount of source material still to be discussed. Hopefully, at some point later this year you will find out some more news regarding the story ahead and the premiere date.
Just in case you want some more insight regarding new and old characters you will see in the second season, executive producer Ed Decter had the following to say to TVLine:
“Some characters we’ve met go through giant transformation. Simon’s girlfriend Maureen has a lot in store for her, and there’s a lot in store for Jocelyn and Luke. There will be new characters we meet as well, including the Seelie Queen. We’ll start building into each of the realms in a different way.”
We do think that there is a tremendous amount of upside for “Shadowhunters” that has not even been explored yet, and hopefully some streaming venues will help to improve the ratings even more than what they already are. After all, we see this being a show that could be a part of the network lineup for some time moving forward.
What do you want to see on the second season of “Shadowhunters”? Then share right now with a comment.

if you read the books it all makes more sense when you watch the show or the movie series based off of them.. .I love both adaptions because they take bits and pieces and bring it to life.. where they’ll have one thing in the movie they’ll have another in the show.. plus different actors/actresses…. mind you after seeing the first season of the show I have to say that the actors/actresses portray there characters amazingly. I mean Magnus Bane (Harry Shum jr.) Total badass and dreamy as hell for a warlock..

dispite what the books says I want Clare and Jace to be together, somehow they should be one. play it like valentine lied and her brother really died. they belong together why put the fan through this emotionally.
