Finale Forecast: Will ‘Scorpion’ season 2 end with big Walter – Paige moment?

Scorpion season 2On April 25, “Scorpion” is going to wrap up its 24-episode second season with an episode that will hopefully satisfy a good many fans out there, no matter what it brings to the table. Now that we’ve said that, why not have a little bit of fun speculating about it now? This is what our Finale Forecast series is all about, and there’s always a decent amount to discuss when it comes to this show.

What could happen – There will probably be some sort of big, action-centric hour that tests some of the characters in ways that they have not faced before, and after a death-neath experience in the episode beforehand, we could see Paige and Sylvester in particular make some key decisions about their future. There is a great, familial feeling that likely comes from being a part of this team, but at the same exact time, you do want to make it out of these weekly situations alive, and Paige does have a child to think about. Also, we will most likely get something further on the Walter / Paige story that does not just involve him wanting to get a higher score than Tim at the arcade game to show him who’s boss. Now that Walter decided to date Linda and Paige has gone out with Tim, we are hoping that we won’t be left with these couples and will have at least one more Paige and Walter moment.

What should happen – Make this as close to a 43-minute action movie as possible. Give us big set pieces, explosions, zippy dialogue, and a little bit of romance mixed in. We know that the show can do cliffhanger endings, but we don’t think “Scorpion” viewers are going to bail on the show without one. They’re a loyal crew! Just emphasize the fun first and foremost (including good stuff for Happy and Toby), and then go from there with everything else.

We also do think now is the time that they at least consider Walter and Paige making a step forward in their relationship. Even if they’re not an item come season 3, you cannot take a step backward from where we were at the start of the season where they admitted their feelings for one another. The show moved so quickly in season 1, hesitating now would just be frustrating.
