‘The Fosters’ season 4 begins production; Rob Morrow directing first two episodes

Fosters -

When it comes to the fourth season of “The Fosters,” there is really not that much waiting around that needs to be done. Even though season 3 recently ended, filming for the fourth season is already officially underway!

In a statement today, Freeform announced that production has started on new episodes, and that Rob Morrow is directing the first two installments. (You can see a first-look photo of Morrow in action below.) The former “Numb3rs” star has recently appeared on a number of other shows including “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” and “Billions,” and he has also directed two episodes previously of this show.

As for what the story of “The Fosters” season 4 will be, that remains to be seen, but there are clearly a few characters in rather troubling places. While Callie did a brave thing in taking a stand against Justina once she learned the truth about her, it is the way in which she learned the truth that could be problematic. Meanwhile, Lena may be facing some problems over Gabriel’s role in building sets for the Romeo & Juliet musical, Jude is likely going to still be feeling the aftershocks of what happened with Jack, and Mariana has a whole lot of problems in her romantic life that need to be attended to.

Given that production is just beginning, we have to assume that this is only the beginning of our coverage, as well! Be sure to stay tuned, as we’ll have a whole host of further updates on “The Fosters” as we get closer to it airing once more.
