‘Tosh.0,’ ‘Drunk History,’ ‘Review,’ and others officially renewed by Comedy Central
Comedy Central is showing a nice pattern of sticking by their shows … at least for a little bit of time.
Today, the network confirmed that they have ordered additional seasons of several of their shows, and the list at present includes “Tosh.0,” “Drunk History,” “Review,” and “This Is Not Happening.” Meanwhile, Nikki Glaser’s late-night series “Not Safe with Nikki Glaser” has also been ordered for at least ten more installments of its own. This gives Comedy Central a stable of great programming to go alongside some of their other current hits such as “Inside Amy Schumer” and “Broad City.”
Granted, the upcoming third season of “Review” will be the show’s last, something that has been far from a secret as of late.
Through much of its current roster of programming, what Comedy Central has done is really prioritize either sketch or segment-based programming more so than shows with any long-form story, which really should not be too much of a surprise when you look at their overall roster over the years. This is a network that likes to be accessible; you can pop in, watch a few shows, and come back in a few weeks time. It’s okay if you miss something in between, because there will be some good content waiting for you on the other side.
Now, what we’d also like to see now are some other reports on what the network is working on when it comes to new series to grow and expand the portfolio for many months / years to come beyond this one.
