‘Supergirl’ episode 18 video: The moment Barry Allen meets Kara Danvers
Before Monday night’s new episode of “Supergirl” airs, we’ve got one more sneak peek to give you an idea of how much fun this crossover looks like it’ll be.
This preview specifically focuses on the first meeting between Kara Danvers and Barry Allen, and it seems to come after Barry saves her in a moment of crisis. The two introduce each other, and there’s a little bit of hilarious energy that comes from the fact that neither knows who the other person is, and they both seem to think that they’re famous enough that everyone knows them. As he tries to get Kara to realize that he’s a famous superhero, he also name-drops a number of other people: Green Arrow, Firestorm, Black Canary, and The Atom. Cheers for some CW universe references thrown in here! He even mentions Zoom, potentially as a way to figure out if he is on Earth-2 somewhere.
Probably the biggest surprise of all here is that Barry is so quick to reveal his real name, given that you’d think he would have some trust issues given the fact that he just realized that Zoom is someone in (spoiler alert for “The Flash”) Jay Garrick who he had relied on so dearly earlier on in season 2. One of the interesting questions we do wonder now is why on this world none of the other heroes we mentioned exist. Is there even a Flash on this world? Is there even a Central City? We like to think that there is, but maybe here Harrison Wells did not become a prolific scientist and there was no incident with a Particle Accelerator. Meanwhile, maybe Oliver Queen never got on the boat to the island, and therefore there was no birth of the Arrow.
These are all fun things to think about, and maybe there’ll even be some references in the episode. In the end, we shall see!
