‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 15 reaction: Norman Reedus on shock Daryl ending

Walking DeadWell, that totally happened on tonight’s “The Walking Dead” episode…

If you are still concerned about the fate of Daryl Dixon after he was shot by Dwight in the closing minutes of Sunday night’s episode, you should be. Speaking to TVLine, Norman Reedus confirmed that the character was in fact chocked in those closing seconds. However, he would not confirm at the same time that he was dead. There’s still a chance!

For the record, Reedus also said that despite playing a fan-favorite character, he’s not 100% sure that he makes it through every season:

“I never feel secure. I don’t think any of us feel secure — including [Andrew]. I think every single one of us on the show knows that we can go at any time. That’s the world that we’re living in. That’s the reality. We could all go at any time.”

Here’s the tricky position that “The Walking Dead” now finds itself in going into next week’s finale: In order to preserve what is in many ways the integrity of the show, a major character more or less has to die. However, at the same exact time we clearly do not want that to be so because we care about these people. We just cannot have another situation like the whole Glenn fiasco, where the show pulls some sort of massive stunt on us only to have them be alive. We’re fine if Daryl makes it out alive (we love him too much to think about him dead), but somebody’s going to have to pay the piper soon.
