‘Quantico’ spoilers: Does Eliza Coupe’s arc have expiration date?
When we first heard that Eliza Coupe was going to be joining ABC’s “Quantico” for an arc, one of the notes that came along with the casting was that there was potential for her to stick around for a larger role as Hannah on a potential second season.
However, much of that changed when it was announced that she would co-star with Josh Hutcherson of “The Hunger Games” in “Future Man,” a pilot that could eventually become a comedy series on Hulu. Based on what executive producer Josh Safran told Entertainment Weekly, it does now seem like the story of Hannah will be coming to an end at some point this season:
“I am so sad that her arc is coming to an end, because she’s on a pilot … It’s been so much fun. Next week’s episode [episode 16, airing April 3] is a very Hannah-forward episode, and you’ll learn why [her] marriage [to Ryan] failed. That’s a nice little grace note to that story, so you’ll understand more.”
It’s been nice to have Coupe in this role, mostly because this is a chance to see her do something that is extremely different from what we’ve become accustomed seeing her do. Also, this is a great foil to Alex Parrish primarily in that she is someone who has gotten a good bit of her life together while still working with the FBI; she has not experienced the same sort of chaos that Alex has in a short amount of time, and seems to have the sort of natural closeness to Ryan thanks to their shared past that can easily cause some tension and jealousy. We already know precisely how Hannah feels about her…
