‘Major Crimes’ season 5 spoilers: Check out some early premiere scoop!
“Major Crimes” recently wrapped up its fourth season on TNT, but like any other crime show out there, the work is never done for some of these characters. We suppose if everyone stopped committing crimes, there really wouldn’t be anything for the show to talk about!
Today, we’ve got some early casting news regarding the premiere. Per TVLine, Leo Howard of “Kickin’ It” and “Shake It Up” is getting to step away from his Disney roots to play a very different sort of role on the show as Gabe Young, a guy described as “arrogant” and from a wealthy background. His girlfriend goes missing, and in a matter of time he quickly becomes identified as a suspect, and he certainly does not help matters by being less-than-forthcoming with the truth.
Unfortunately, there’s no indication as of yet regarding how long Howard could stick around for, but our feeling is that “Major Crimes” is shifting back to more of its traditional format for the fifth season. While we did enjoy the five-episode arc involving Hickman and Tao, we feel like we may have been in the minority who preferred the long-form story to what the show has been doing for years.
There’s no firm premiere date yet for the fifth season, but unless TNT decides to do something drastic, we have a hard time imagining the show airing at any point other than in June. We’ll let you know when it’s announced.
