‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: ‘The Brothers Jones’ synopsis teases Hook – Liam story
It should not be a secret at this point that Sunday night’s new episode of “Once Upon a Time” is going to be a showcase for Captain Hook. He was just freed from Hades’ grasp, and now he’s going to be saying hello to someone he has not seen in quite some time: Liam Jones, his long-deceased brother. You may remember his flashback story during the third season, and we’re glad that these two are going to be spending some time together.
With that said, this is not just going to be a happy family reunion and nothing else. The synopsis below teases that there will be a chance for these two to work together in an effort to ensure that Hook can find himself freed from Hades’ grasp:
“Finally reunited, Hook and Emma must find a way to defeat Hades so that they can return to Storybrooke with Snow, David, Regina, Robin, Henry and Gold. A surprise visit from Hook’s departed brother Liam just might provide the lead they were looking for—others who have tried to overthrow Hades spoke of a book that contained the key to his downfall. Tired of watching from the sidelines, Henry secretly takes matters into his own hands while the others search for the book. Meanwhile, Hades redoubles his efforts to trap the heroes in the Underworld by playing them against one another. In flashbacks, the bond between the two young Jones brothers is tested and strengthened on a merchant ship heading into a dangerous storm.”
Basically, if you love Colin O’Donoghue’s character there is a lot to love about this story. We like the format of this Underworld arc so far very much; it’s not over-complicating things at all, and with every episode you’re getting a chance to see a different character explore their past in this world. It’s a very season 1 sort of vibe.
