Is ‘Saturday Night Live’ new tonight on NBC? A clip to watch while you wait

SNL -The past two weeks, “Saturday Night Live” has been a little bit of a surprising mixed bag. We anticipated the show hosted by Jonah Hill, for example, to be incredibly entertaining. However, that turned out to not so much be the case. Meanwhile, we had tremendously lower expectations for the show featuring Ariana Grande, and it ended up being one of the stronger editions of the entire season.

Unfortunately comedy fans, this is going to be a little bit of a long wait now until the show returns for more on NBC. There is no installment tonight, and to go along with that, you’re not going to get to see any more of the show at all until we get around to the edition on April 2 hosted by Peter Dinklage. That has the potential to be a tremendous hour and a half of TV, but it is still a long wait before that happens.

Tonight, NBC is replaying the Chris Hemsworth hosted show from late last year, and if you have no intention of sitting through a repeat, we can at least highlight for you below what we consider to be one of the funnier sketches from the night. “Time to Bleed” is a ridiculous send-up of many cop dramas, and it gives Sasheer Zamata probably some of the best material that we’ve seen from her all season. She’s a very good player in many sketches, but for one reason or another she’s probably the most under-the-radar of any cast member who has been on the show longer than a year.

Unfortunately many of the other sketches are dated, especially the opening featuring Will Ferrell as George W. Bush.
