‘American Idol 15’ spoilers: Sia, Stevie Van Zandt, and Katharine McPhee coming up next

American Idol -

Coming up on “American Idol” next week, we can definitely say now that there is quite a wide array of variety that will be coming up. We’re going to see a little bit of rock and a little bit of pop hit the stage, and there are some interesting mentors coming up, as well.

Let’s start with Sia, who is going to help to guide the remaining five singers (Trent Harmon, La’Porsha Renae, MacKenzie Bourg, Dalton Rapattoni, and Sonika Vaid) on how to perform some of her songs. We’re not entirely sure just if these are songs strictly performed by her or ones that she has written, since there is a really large distinction between the two. She is also going to hit the stage in order to perform “Cheap Thrills.”

As for the second part of the show, Stevie Van Zandt of the E Street Band will help to mentor the contestants on classic rock, which really excites us since this feels a little bit like an old-school theme that one of the first several seasons of the show would do. Also, it feels like in theory there is a super-robust category of songs for people to choose from.

In terms of an alumni performance, Katharine McPhee will return to the show just one week after Adam Lambert rocked the house. She’s certainly rather busy at the moment, given that she is also starring on “Scorpion” over at CBS. We’ll have more on this episode over the coming days, so stay tuned!
