‘Major Crimes’ season 5: Premiere date speculation, hopes for TNT drama
On Monday night, we’re going to see the “Hindsight” arc officially come to a close on “Major Crimes,” and with that of course comes season 4 as a whole. This is the longest season that the TNT drama has put on the air so far, and almost undoubtedly one of the most ambitious ones when it comes to the show’s reach.
So when could season 5 premiere on TNT with new episodes? The easy guess to make (and this is only a guess) is the first or second week in June, given that this is when seasons 2-4 premiered. This is a network that makes a lot of its money in the summer, and it makes sense for them to try to pick up where many network shows left off during the season. The later they delay some new episodes, the more that they could miss out on viewers.
As for the sort of stories they could tell, we already mapped out a little bit of whether the show should stick to the long-form model of “Hindsight” or go back to more of their roots. We assume that they’ll do more of the latter, but we wouldn’t be shocked if there was more of a mix moving forward. TNT has a network has changed a lot since most of their shows were crime procedurals, so it would not be much of a shock if they changed things up.
As for whether or not season 5 is the last for the show, we haven’t heard anything just yet … but we would assume that there is enough punch with the ratings still to get the show a season 6.
