‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Will Patty Spivot return soon?

Season 2 of “The Flash” to date has contained quite a few notable newcomers, with of course Jay Garrick topping the list right now thanks to him / Hunter Zolomon being Zoom. (We’re still a little confused on who is actually who, so hopefully the show clears that up.)

One other notable character, though, is Patty Spivot, played on the show by Shantel VanSanten. She was a love interest for Barry Allen and a big part of the first half of the season, and based on what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told TVLine at the time of her exit, the producers want her back at some point:

“We have not seen the last of Patty … We very consciously did not kill her.”

One new wrinkle in here is the fact that VanSanten’s new pilot “Shooter” has been ordered to series, but we really do not think that it will make just a significant difference once way or another in if she makes another guest spot here and there. It just makes scheduling more challenging. Personally, we really liked the character, even if we are rooting for Barry to end up with Iris. She can still return and be useful as a CSI technician for the Central City PD, and while we don’t want to see her just reduced to a love interest character, we do think there would be something fun if the writers were to pair her with Cisco. To date, he has not exactly crushed on people who have been able to be with him in any sort of meaningful, significant way.
