‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Emily Kinney returns as Brie Larvin!

We have not seen Emily Kinney turn up in The CW’s DC Universe since the first season of “The Flash,” but come the upcoming March 30 episode of “Arrow,” this issue will be rectified. Her character of Brie Larvin is a bit of an arch-nemesis for Felicity Smoak, and it will be interesting to see precisely how her latest attempt at wrecking havoc unfolds.

We’re sure you are wondering how she is going to be able to return, given that the character was arrested at the end of her previous “Flash” appearance; the synopsis below for “Beacon of Hope” provides those answers:

“Brie Larvan (guest star Emily Kinney) breaks out of jail and turns up at Palmer Tech threatening to kill everyone unless she gets the bio-chip that is implanted in Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) spine. When Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes that Felicity, Thea (Willa Holland) and Donna (guest star Charlotte Ross) are trapped in Palmer Tech with everyone else, he looks to a surprising ally to help Team Arrow save the day.”

While we are not entirely sure if there is any connection at all between this storyline and what has been going on with Damien Darhk, we won’t be particularly upset if this just turns out to be a one-off appearance from the villain. It’s hard to be upset when you are getting to see an interesting character on the show, and our appreciation for Brie comes from both Kinney’s performance and also that she is a little bit more of an intellectual opponent than a physical one. She’s a nice follow-up from the return of Cupid (Amy Gumenick), who will be in the March 23 episode. (You can read more about her return here.)
