‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7 is the final season, claims Lucy Hale
The constant either / or debate on “Pretty Little Liars” season 7 continues. While we’ve heard multiple times now that it will be the final season of the show, we also at the same time have heard Freeform and creator Marlene King take a “not necessarily” approach to the conversation.
Is that stopping now? We’ll be curious to know in the wake of a new interview featuring star Lucy Hale. Speaking on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” the actress behind Aria made it clear that “all good things must come to an end.” She also described during the interview how she wants the show to end.
Our ultimate sentiment on all of the final-season talk is this: It seems like the cast is ready to move on after the seventh season to do other things, and their contracts are probably expired. With that in mind, there really doesn’t seem to be any interest in continuing, even if there are some people involved may want to. You cannot really do the show without the female leads, and we’d certainly understand if they were ready for a different challenge after devoting seven years of their lives to working long hours on this show.
For Freeform, what they really should do at this point is start to look at possibilities to extend this franchise in some other ways. Maybe try out a new spin-off, work with King on a new project, or just try to capture the feel of this show with something new or different. Rather than trying to stretch this out, it’s okay sometimes to go in a different direction with something new.
