‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 2 spoilers: Cicely Tyson will return as Annalise’s mother

For those of you wondering when you were going to see the return of the exceptional Cicely Tyson to ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder,” we are pleased to say that there is some sort of official answer … and you will be seeing her at some point before the season comes to a close.

This news was first confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, who also made it clear that you are going to see Tyson turn up as Annalise Keating’s mother near the end of the season:

“One of the questions I’m asked most is when Ms. Tyson is coming back … It’s been 
our mission to find a story worthy of her return. 
I’m so grateful she said yes.”

Given the caliber of the work Tyson has done over the course of her career, you can rest assured for the most part that if she is going to sign up to do something for you, it’s almost surely going to be fantastic. Right now Annalise could certainly use a little bit more comfort from home when you consider everything that she is going through at present, which includes some of her history iwth Wes coming out in the forefront and her also struggling to recover from the shooting in the midseason finale. It’s been an eventful season for her, and we have a feeling that it will become even more intense before we get around to the end of it.

Given that “How to Get Away with Murder” is sure to be returning for a third season, hopefully we’ll get a chance to see even more of Tyson soon.
