‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’ rankings: Are Scot Pollard, Kyle Jason in control of Brawn tribe?
Life is brutal at the moment on “Survivor: Kaoh Rong” for the Brawn tribe. They lost the first challenge, got rid of a potential physical asset in Darnell Hamilton, and haven’t really been able to even get necessarily nutrients just yet. Jennifer got a literal bug stuck in her ear, the conditions are terrible, and when you look at a big guy like Scot Pollard or a bodybuilder like Cydney Gillord, this dramatic diet change is probably hitting them worse than almost anyone else out there.
Can they turn it around? It’s possible, though it’s not going to be easy. Nothing this season will. With that, let’s get to ranking who’s left! If you haven’t seen our other rankings just yet on the Brains and the Beauty tribes, here’s the criteria we’re using: Strategy, edit, screen time, challenge ability, effectiveness at camp, and overall threat level.
5. Alecia Holden – As someone originally from Dallas we wanted to root for the hometown contestant, but things just aren’t going well. She didn’t do much around camp, and didn’t really do anything in the last challenge. Maybe she can hitch her wagon to someone like Jason and hope for the best, but right now we haven’t gotten much from the Mental Giant other than her tribal council highlight reel.
4. Cydney Gillon – We know that she was super-tight with Darnell, and while she did eventually vote against him after the tie, she may be in fourth place in a four-person group … or maybe fifth if the powers that be determine that Alecia is someone who is easier to keep along with them.
3. Jennifer Lanzetti – So long as she doesn’t get attacked by any more creatures and can focus on the game, she’ll probably be safe for a while. We get the sense that she’s a workhorse, and at least will be a good listening to plans if she’s not the person coming up with them.
2. Scot Pollard – While we are not entirely clear if Scot wanted to get rid of Darnell because of his challenge screw-up or for some other reason (it makes more sense of there was something else going on), we still can’t question that the guy got what he wanted. He seems to have a good relationship with Jason and Jennifer at the moment, and we do like some of the comments he made in the confessionals relating his style of play from the NBA to this game. They make him seem like a scrapper, and not just another athlete who will be completely blindsided down the road.
1. Kyle Jason – Of these five, Jason’s the one who has been overtly the most strategic, and for the time being there’s no reason to think with Darnell gone that he can run this group. The only thing that could stand in his way is if the group keeps losing, or if people start talking and they realize that he has made pretty firm deals with everyone.
